Hometown: Hana, Maui
Recently featured on a Gatorade billboard alongside tennis star Serena Williams above the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, Monyca Byrne Wickey is big time. A native of sleepy Hana on the remote east side of Maui, Monyca has a country upbringing and shies away from competitive surfing, preferring to surf at home with friends like Hank Gaskell and boyfriend/pro surfer Ola Eleogram (sorry dudes, she’s taken).
